Introduction:

The great scientist, engineer, teacher and eleventh President of the Republic of India, Marhol Abul Pakir Janulabdeen Abdul Kalam Masoudi was one of the most popular presidents of the country due to his scholarly, scientific vision, foresight, writing ability and soft nature. Dr. Kalam's life from a fisherman family of Tamil Nadu to the chair of the President of the country is exciting. Little is known that he was also a good musician and poet.

Childhood of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam:

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam hailed from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's full name was Avul Pakir Zainulbadin Abdul Kalam. He was born into a Tamil Muslim family living in Rameswaram. His father's name was Zainulbadin and he was the Imam of a mosque and the owner of a village. His mother's name was Asiamma, who was a housewife.

In childhood, Abdul Kalam used to bring Dhanushkowda from Rameshwam to Hindu people from his father's feet. Kalam had three elder brothers and a sister. He used to send some money to his family throughout his life. You will be surprised to know that this man who loves technology had never bought a TV in Jingdi.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's Early Education:

When Abdul Kalam was born, his family was suffering from poverty. Because of this, at a very young age, Abdul Kalam had to work in the morning selling newspapers. Abdul Kalam was an ordinary student in reading, his marks in school were also ordinary but he was always appreciated by the teachers that he is a very hard-working student. He always worked on mathematics for hours.

After completing his high school from Swartz High School, he moved to Tiruchirappalli and graduated from Physics in 1954 at St. Joseph's College. In 1955, he joined the Madras Institute of Technology in Madras to do aerospace engineering. During this course, Kalam was working on a project and his college president did not like his work and told Kalam that if your project is not completed in the next three days, then your scholarship will be withdrawn.

No Selection in the Air Force:

Abdul Kalam had a great desire to join the Indian Air Force but he could not be selected for just one place. He was ninth in the selection list but only the top eight candidates were needed for the Air Force. After completing his studies from Madras Institute of Technology, Kalam joined the Aeronautical development establishment as a scientist.

In the aeronautical development establishment, Kalam started his career with a small hovercraft there. After working there for a few years, Kalam joined ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organization. Let us tell you that in 1969, Abdul Kalam was sent to ISRO as the director of the country's first space launch vehicle project. The Indian Space Research Organization was started at that time.

India's first Satellite Rohini:

At that time, Abdul Kalam and his fellow scientists carried the bicycles and bullock carts required to build rockets and space vehicles. He directed the country's first ballot missile project. He achieved a major success in 1980 when he successfully sent a satellite named Rohini to the Earth's Orbit. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was greatly impressed by the success of Kalam's Rohini satellite and arranged secret funding for Kalam's next project, Advance and Guided Missile. In 1982, he joined DRDO and worked on this project. Today, you will hear about the missiles like Agni, Prithvi and Bramos. Apart from this, all these missiles like Tactical Missiles, Nag, Akash and Trishul were started by Dr. APJ Kalam.

Operation Shakti was successful:

The day of 11-13 May 1998 became one of the biggest days in the history of India. On that day, India surprised the whole world including the US by conducting a successful nuclear test in Pokhran. Let us tell you that there were many obstacles in front of India in conducting nuclear test, even the US spy satellites were keeping an eye on India, but these Dr. A.P.J. It was Abdul Kalam's knowledge that America did not let the whole world know about the India nuclear test.

Abdul Kalam was the principal scientific advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, before conducting nuclear tests at that time. Although the Prime Minister had offered Kalam Saheb to become a minister but he refused because his plan was something else. In March 1998, Abdul Kalam Saheb met the PM with the entire project of Atomic and gave him complete information about the Nuclear Missile Program. At that meeting, the PM approved the launch of Kalam Saheb's Nuclear Project and that mission was named "Operation Shakti". Along with this, the code name of Kalam Saheb was also kept, which was "Major Prithviraj"

Made India Self-sufficient:

At that time, a big challenge for India to make the operation power successful was to stay away from the eyes of the American satellite. For this, Kalam Saheb worked overnight. Pokhran used other routes to come and go. In order to mislead the US satellite, Kalam Saheb encouraged the activities of the army in an area far from Pokhran. Along with this, he did many such things that did not make American Satellite even aware. On May 11, 1998, nuclear tests were conducted for the first time in Pokhran and twice more on May 13, but till then the whole world including America did not know anything about it. Abdul Kalam had become the Missile Man of India by the time the world got its news after the nuclear test was successful.

Awards, Books & Inspirations:

He received several awards like Padmabhushan (1981), Padma Vibhushan (1990) and along with him, Bharat Ratna (1997), India's largest civilian award. After this, he pursued science as well as art and culture. He repeatedly inspired children by going to school colleges. He also wrote several books. Which includes many books like Wings of Fire, India 2020, APJ Abdul Kalam My Journey. His books became famous worldwide and were also translated into many Indian languages.

Conclusion:

He died on 27 July 2015 in Shillong. Even before his death, he was giving knowledge and inspiration to children in a college. He died but his inspirations, his proverbs will continue to inspire the future of India. Hearing their saying, even today, the thinking of new youth changes and they too start dreaming of achieving success like them.
