1. Red Fort: This Fort holds a history and was the main residence of

fort covers an area of approximately 255 acres having 2.41 kilometers of defensive

4. Qutub Minar: Qutub Minar is the tallest tower in India and built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak
after defeating the last Hindu kingdom. This is a five-storey tower having an elevation
of 73 meters. It contains a spiral staircase having 379 steps. Government
placed a ticket of 30 rupees for Indians and 500 rupees for foreigners.
Tourists came from all over the world to visit this historical building.
5. Lotus Temple: This temple is named Lotus Temple because of its
resemblance to Lotus flower. The Lotus Temple is open to all regardless of any
religion or any other qualification. The Lotus Temple covers an area of 26
acres having an elevation of approximately 40 meters which can hold up to 2,500
people at a time. Lotus symbolizes four religions that are Islam, Hinduism,

6. India Gate: India Gate was constructed in 1931 in the memory of 70,000 soldiers who
were killed during the first world war and the Afghan war. Names of those
soldiers are written on the walls of this gate. It was earlier named as All
India War Memorial but later name to India Gate. It is free for tourists to
visit and attracts a large number of tourists to see it in evening lights.
7. Jama Masjid: Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosque in India, constructed by Shah
Jahan in 1656. The mosque has three gates, four towers and two minarets having
an elevation of about 40 meters. The mosque is made of the combination of red
sandstone and white marble. This mosque can accommodate 25,000 worshippers at a
time. Although it is a major place of worship for Muslims but it is also visited
by many tourists because of its architecture.
